Sticky Chapters

A contents rail stays in view beside your steps on wider screens and marks the one being read. On phones it sits above the steps instead. It takes each step's first heading as its title, so it is built from what you already wrote. The rail is a real <nav>, rendered on your server, and its links work with JavaScript switched off.

The layouts that move, with Glide Pro

Glide Pro adds three sticky-scroll layouts. Sticky Media holds a media pane in place while the story scrolls past, and crossfades it as each step comes into view. Stacking Cards pile up, each sliding over the last. Horizontal Pin holds the section while its panels travel sideways, for as much scrolling as you set, up to eight screen heights. For a reader who has asked for reduced motion, Horizontal Pin stacks its panels vertically by default.

Every step is a block

Each step or slide is a Glide Slide, and almost anything can go inside one — headings, paragraphs, images, buttons, columns, anything but another Glide. Your theme styles the text; Glide styles the structure around it.

Loads where it is used

Each mode's script and stylesheet load only when a block on the page uses it, and the slider's script loads when the block scrolls into view rather than with the page.

Readable chapter links, with Pro

In Glide Pro, each chapter's link is made from its title, like #choose-your-layout. An Anchor field pins it, so a link someone has shared keeps working when the title changes.
